I bought a MacBook Pro Today

I went for it today, Saturday October 18th, and bought a Macbook Pro. I'm rationalizing the purchase with it being my 40th birthday soon and it would be a tax write-off. Also the new Macbook's came out, so the old, but new model was available for quite an enticing discount. Quite nerve wracking going for and buying the higher end Pro versus the Macbook, but I did it. My eMac is not going to last much longer anyway, right. Now I can be mobile and when needed use it for work. As you know I'm a photojournalist and photo editor. Here is a photo.

New Canon EOS 5d Mark II !!!

There are times when I would switch from Nikon to Canon. This camera is one of those times. As a Nikon user of old equipment in the D2hs and D2h and a video camera in the Sony VX2100 I'm certain this would be the creme de la creme. I only wonder what the next model would be like. Should we wait? Also, I would need to raise the money for such an item. Since I have Nikon gear, I would also need to spend extra on nice lenses.
Below is Vincent Laforet's behind the scenes look at him using the camera in video mode. The finished product looks better than the behind the scenes video camera's they used!

Click the link above and see some images I have taken through the 14 years at the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin newspaper. Now a days I work the desk as Deputy Photo Editor for both The Sun and Daily Bulletin and on occasion I get out, pick up the camera and shoot. What a great feeling that is too!

I created a blog to experience it. See where it takes me. I'm working in the newspaper business. I help run a photo department in Southern California. Here is a photo of my wife and me. I do have a wonderful daughter. I adore her and have purposely left her out of my blog.
